“Swim” sees the band take a slightly different approach than its predecessor Invincible Summer. “We have tried to translate the growth we’ve experienced as band over the past year and a half into these new songs” says singer Joost Hoedemaeckers. “We also tried working more on harmony vocals. Lyrics involve concrete subjects like women who relinquished their child for adoption in the song Heavy Crosses. They’re also more allegorical subjects like creating your own happiness in a song like The Bleachers.”
Swim was self-recorded and mixed by Ink Bomb guitarist Quirijn Foeken. The mastering was done by American engineer Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering. Recently the song The Bleachers was released as a music video as well.
